I researched it and found the number one reason in every study is having a new sex partner or multiple sex partners. But, there is enough inconclusive data as to the cause that I didn’t confront her about an affair. I did talk to her about my concern but stopped short of an accusation.

Now, after 36 years of marriage I caught her red handed in a three year long sexting affair. She says she wants to stay in the marriage, and she loves me. She assures me that no physical meeting ever took place and that photos were never exchanged.

Several traumatic events occured in my life just prior to and during those three years, one is a surgery that left me Impotent for two years.

The surgery was for a seminical vesical cyst. It was large, took the surgeon six hours to remove and caused damage to nerve bundles in my pelvis. The surgeon told my wife and I that
the nerves would need time to heal and that it could take a couple years or longer. He was right about that. I’m better and getting stronger.

The sexting affair has caused me to reflect on our years together, and i’m continuing to confront her with questions reaching far into our relationship.

I’ve met with my urologist, family physician, and the surgeon with questions about whether an STI or STD could have caused my problem. They simply don’t know.

I suppose what i’m leading up to is this. Have you encountered or have knowledge an incidence of an STI or STD like bacterial vaginosis causing such a unique problem in a man.
